Tunnel — from A to B, with directionality. A kind of tubular space hidden beneath a complete appearance. It is a fracture in space.
Escape — fleeing. Sustaining life. Existence.
“Walk, run, fly”
I am stepping in place on the treadmill, I see the metronome’s pendulum swinging back and forth, I am a human body.
The tunnel, as both space and symbol, is not just about passing through but also a kind of transformation: from light into shadow, from control towards the unknown. This is a journey of “becoming.” In the end, I invite the audience to leave on me the marks of our mutual “becoming.”
The work is inspired by cross-dressing and the fairy tale “Pinocchio,” using “identity transformation” to try to understand what is “real.” Let us together go beneath the complete appearance. Perhaps that is where the freedom to imagine and to fly truly begins.
