Named after the concept of the near future, the theme is inspired by humanity’s projection and imagination of a fast-paced technological world. The work creates an original script that tells the story of a planet called “Cloud,” 1,400 light-years from Earth, which was destroyed by a natural catastrophe. The inhabitants believe that intelligent beings still exist somewhere beyond the solar system, so they visit Earth. They plan to conduct a poetic field survey here, with the Yuanshan archaeological site serving as their base. The piece attempts to open a multi-layered narrative structure across time and space, forming scenes that coexist in a staggered manner. As both observers and participants, the audience experience a flipped perception, echoing Nuit Blanche’s main trends and allowing diverse aesthetics across cultures and generations to intersect and blend.
